We have emerging interests in the use of technology in healthcare. This includes in areas such as diagnoses, prescribing and radiology. Our members are rigorously appraising their skills in various aspects of ehealth.
- Mental health - increasing accessibility to care, reduced stigma associated with seeking help, and the ability to track and monitor progress over time, providing personalized and tailored interventions based on individual needs.
- Maternal health -addressing barriers to accessing maternal healthcare services, especially for women in remote or underserved areas.
- Collaborative care - using electronic health records to facilitate seamless information sharing between healthcare providers, ensuring that all members of the care team are up to date on a woman's medical history and healthcare needs.
Skills development and resource sharing
Supporting staff and facilities in Kenya to continue developing and updating their practice and skills.
Providing opportunities for capacity building through exchange visits, workshops and joint research projects.
Supporting nurses and midwives to get involved in evidence-based research
Research shows that adoption of evidence-based practice in nursing and midwively increases job satisfaction and decreased turnover, and crucially enhances patient outcomes.
- Collaboration with nurse researchers - we encourage our members who have research experience to involve others on study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of results. This collaboration ensures those new to research gain the skills whilst contributing their perspectives in the research process.
- Participation in research teams - we encourage our membes to get involved in interdisciplinary research teams, and share their unique perspective as healthcare providers and advocates for patients.
- Continuing education and training - we look for opportunities for nurses to engage in research education and training to help build their research capacity.
Natural Health Awareness
Natural health methods are gaining acceptance and rightly so as people seek to address health issues in a more holistic and sustainable way. Natural health practices can help prevent illness, promote overall well-being, and support the body's natural healing processes.
It's important to note that while natural health practices can be beneficial, they should not be used as a replacement for conventional medical treatment when necessary.
